Sunday July 18th 2010 "Stockade"

Well known and loved around the SE QLD folk scene and beyond, STOCKADE will be launching their second CD "THERE BE TIME" at Folk Redlands 18th July. STOCKADE features the fabulous original songs of Chuck & Chrissy Euston, both accomplished musicians of many years. Their well crafted songs cover styles from blues and folk, to celtic and with even a hint of gypsy jazz. These songs span places, stories and emotions shared by a large cross section of audience and are delivered with both passion and humour. Especially popular from this new CD is the haunting "Quandamooka" - about our own beautiful Moreton Bay.

The Slimy Brothers are back on the gigging trail with an abundance of new material, a music clip in the works and were a big hit at the sold out Neurum Creek Folk Festival.

Lonnie Martin and Don Jarmey

Both are legendary performers in the Brisbane folk scene in their own right and have appeared on previous occasions at Folk Redlands, Lonnie with singer songwriter Helen Rowe and Don as the super energetic driving force of his band "Jigger" but this time these two great artists will perform together as well as idividually.
Their styles of music are likely to vary from Gospel through to Folk Rock.


Sunday May 16th   Steve Tyson

Steve Tyson is best known as the guitarist and mandolin player in Rough Red, one of Australia's better known folk-rock bands, who toured Europe four times performing at many of the major summer festivals. Rough Red released four albums over a decade long career. In recent years, he has also played in a blues/roots trio twentysevens, which in between releasing three records, toured the UK supporting rock legends Status Quo on their 31 date Winter tour in 2006.


Sunday May 2nd 2010 "Kookaburra Day Out"
Kookaburra Folk Club at Folk Redlands.
As most of the Folk Redlands crew were up in the tropical north enjoying the Wintrmoon Folk Festival in Mackay, Anne Infante and Ian Clarke hosted a totally unplugged acoustic blackboard afternoon of entertainment culminating in a wonderful extended set by April Maze as a finale.


Sunday April 18th   "Little Secrets"

One of Brisbane's best kept secrets, original folk/rock, blues and country. Tony Mockeridge, Michael Tully and Rob Stewart. The band's music covers topics as diverse as teenage angst, cricket and love. They are driven by a desire to create music that has an emotional and cultural resonance to reach out engage the audience. They also just enjoy playing together.


Sunday April 4th   "Echoes of Eden"

Local a cappella musical duo Echoes of Eden, Wendy Squire and Sarah Morrison. Their close harmonies lend a haunting purity to the traditional and modern Celtic songs in their repertoire. Now they also perform with talented Queensland guitarist, Michael Jeffrey, who joins them in three part harmonies and plays both six-string and twelve-string guitar in their newly formed group, Tapestry. Some of their songs include: 'I am the Voice', 'Wild Horses' and 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'.

Maxine McCabe is a Brisbane singer songwriter known for her diversity and singing "Folk with a little edge". Strong, earthy and feminine, Maxine's shows are notorious for their musical diversity and cross genre pollination.

Mandy Connell & "The Red Shoes"

Mandy Connell is an original writer with folky roots. She will sing with a new Melbourne band The Red Shoes who have a folky feel with old time, jazz and blues influences.
Mandy also features on the Joni Mitchell Tribute album Produced by Marina Hurley with Andrew Pattison and the Troubadour Foundation. This album will be launched at the 2010 National Folk festival in Canberra.

Sunday March 7th 2010 "The Redlands Bluegrass Boys"

Alan McMonagle (vocals, guitar, fiddle), Neil Wills (mandolin, guitar and vocals), Fred Hudson (banjo and vocals), Bill Turner (guitar and vocals) and Tom Stekinga (double bass and vocals). Together they performed a range of traditional bluegrass songs and instrumentals and demonstrating the tight vocal harmonies and acoustic instrumentals solos epitomised by this style of music and really entertained alarge audience. These guys are always welcome !

Sunday February 7th 2010 "Pirate Brides"

Around 75 people came on board to hear Brisbane's most dynamic bluegrass / folk group comprising Ryk Rostron, Rose Broe, John Holmburg and Marcus Karlsen and enjoyed great enertainment.
